Market Growth

During the past several years of CRM hype, many companies rushed into an implementation- leading to a failure rate for CRM installations as high as 55%, according to research from analyst firm Gartner Group.  This is because a majority of today's CRM solutions do not do what they were designed to do - improve customer service.  Solutions are fragmented, expensive, difficult to implement, and do not adapt to a company's existing business processes.

During the Internet bubble, analysts and research firms forecasted extremely robust CRM market growth.  Although many of these estimates were over-inflated, recent studies have continued to forecast strong, albeit, more muted growth for the industry.  A recent report published in ICCM Weekly on April 17, 2002 forecasts a 15 percent growth in the global CRM services market with a forecast of $25.3 billion in 2002, expecting to reach $47 billion by 2006.
